Marine jet crashes, aviators rescued

MCAS BEAUFORT – An F/A-18D Hornet jet crashed into the ocean Wednesday evening (March 10) about 30 miles off the coast, according to the Marines.

Both of the Marine pilot and the weapons system officer (WSO) ejected safely and were rescued about 30 miles off the coast of St. Helena Island by the U.S. Coast Guard, according to Gunnery Sgt. Chad McMeen, an air station spokesman.

The jet impacted the ocean about 5:25 p.m.

The jet was attached to the Marine All Weather Fighter Attack Squadron 224.

Ridgeland High School Sex Scandal

For months the paper printed article after article about Coach Cox down in Hardeeville. Yet nothing is mentioned about the sex rumors about the coaches and players in Ridgeland that everyone is talking about for two weeks. One mother is (upset). Are you protecting them? There appears to be at least four varsity boys (maybe more) involved. Lets see if there will be an out cry over this. The principal, AD, and girls varsity coach should be fired. Hey Board members, is this as bad as an arguement between two rival coaches? We'll be watching.

Hardeeville/Ridgeland girls basketball game

I know Ridgeland is thrilled that they finally beat Hardeeville. But did they really? They can't be too happy because coach Cox wasn't there. There's no way they could have pulled off that close win if he had been there. They barely beat a bunch of rookie coaches. They should thank the Board of Education and Taylor for that win. So put an * by that win. It was a hallow victory.
